# Azaan Alarm Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 26, 2026

Azaan Alarm is published by AMK. This policy applies to the Android
application with package name `com.supportamk.azaanalarm`.

## Summary

Most Azaan Alarm features work on the user's device. The app does not require
an account and contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote
crash-reporting SDK. Internet access is used for Quran recitation services and
when the user chooses to open donation, source, or rights links in an external
browser.

## Information Stored on the Device

The app stores the selected location, calculation method, alarm and reminder
choices, bundled or custom Azaan selection, Quran reading preferences,
bookmarks, downloaded recitation records, and other settings locally. These
values are used to calculate prayer times, schedule reminders, restore
playback, and personalize the app. AMK does not receive this locally stored
information.

## Location

The user can select a location manually. If the user chooses "Use GPS once,"
the app requests approximate or precise location permission and asks Android
for a single device location. The coordinates, place label, and time zone are
stored locally and used for prayer calculations and Qibla direction. The app
does not continuously track location or send it to AMK.

Depending on the device, its location and geocoding provider may process the
request to determine a place name under that provider's own privacy terms.

## Quran and Recitation Services

Quran text, Surah information, and translations are bundled for offline
reading. Search and bookmarks are processed locally.

Refreshing the reciter catalogue, streaming a recitation, or downloading Surah
audio connects to mp3quran.net and its recitation servers. Those servers
receive ordinary technical request information such as the IP address,
requested URL or file, request time, and the app's network user agent. AMK
does not operate those servers and does not receive the user's Quran listening
history from the app.

## Data Collection and Sharing

The app has no account system and does not send app settings, bookmarks,
download records, or location to AMK. It does not sell personal data. Network
requests for online recitations and system-provided location services are
described above.

## Permissions and Special Access

- Location: optional one-time GPS setup; manual location remains available.
- Notifications and full-screen alarms: prayer reminders, playback controls,
  and the lock-screen ringing screen.
- Exact alarms: Azaan and Kaza alarms near the calculated prayer time.
- Foreground services, wake lock, and vibration: active audio, visible
  downloads, and alarms while the device is idle.
- Boot completed: restores scheduled alarms after a device restart.
- Network access: reciter catalogue, streaming, and requested audio downloads.
- Battery settings: when the user taps Allow, requests Android's
  battery-optimization exemption for the app to reduce delayed alarms.
- Custom audio: Android's system file picker grants persistent access only to
  the audio document selected by the user. The app requests no broad audio or
  media permission.

Permissions can be reviewed or removed in Android settings. Removing a
permission may disable its related feature.

## Backup and Restore

The user chooses where to save or read a settings backup file. The exported
JSON file is plain text and can contain precise coordinates, place and time-zone
details, alarm and reminder settings, selected Azaan identifiers, and
references to custom audio documents. Azaan Alarm does not automatically upload
backups to AMK. A storage provider selected by the user may sync the file under
that provider's own terms. Android automatic app backup is disabled.

Downloaded Quran audio is stored in app-specific storage and is normally
removed when the app is uninstalled. Exported files and user-selected custom
audio files remain under the user's control.

browser.

## Donation Website

The optional Donate page explains that donations unlock no app features. If
the user continues, Azaan Alarm opens `https://supportamk.com/` in the user's
browser. The app does not receive or store payment details. The website and
payment providers operate separately under their own privacy practices.

## Children's Privacy

Azaan Alarm is a general prayer and Quran utility. AMK does not knowingly
collect personal information from children or other users through the app.

## Changes

This policy may be updated when the app's functionality, service providers, or
legal requirements change.
