PRIVACY POLICY FOR DUPLICATE INSPECTOR Effective date: July 25, 2026 Duplicate Inspector is designed to perform duplicate-file scanning and review locally on the user's Windows computer. DATA PROCESSED LOCALLY When the user selects a folder, the application may read file names, paths, sizes, modification times, file contents for hashing, and supported media for preview generation. This processing is necessary to find and display possible duplicates. DATA COLLECTION AND TRANSMISSION Duplicate Inspector does not require an account and does not collect, upload, sell, or share: - file contents; - file paths or names; - duplicate results or scan history; - personal information; or - analytics, advertising identifiers, or telemetry. The scanner's local interface communicates only through the computer's loopback connection and is not intended to expose scan data to the public network. DATA STORED ON THE COMPUTER The application may store interface preferences locally. Video preview thumbnails may be cached under the user's local application-data folder. Diagnostic crash logs may be stored under: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Duplicate Inspector\Logs Generated video thumbnails may be stored under: %LOCALAPPDATA%\DuplicateInspector\thumbnails Users can remove these local files using Windows File Explorer when the application is closed. EXTERNAL LINKS Selecting the donation action opens https://supportamk.com/ in the user's default browser. Once the browser opens that website, the website's own privacy policy and server practices apply. The duplicate scanner does not send file contents, file paths, or scan results to the donation page. FILE DELETION The application does not delete files automatically. Cleanup requires the user's reviewed selection and confirmation. Supported cleanup actions request the Windows Recycle Bin, and the application leaves the source file untouched when that operation fails. CHANGES This policy may be updated when the application's behavior changes. A revised policy should include a new effective date. CONTACT Questions about this policy may be submitted through https://supportamk.com/.
