Expense Home Privacy Policy

Information processed by the app

Expense Home can process household and member names, expense items, income sources, categories, amounts, dates and times, monthly and yearly budgets, recurring-bill schedules, retained compatible shopping records, receipt images or PDFs, settings, and backup data that you enter, select, or restore.

This information is used to display household records, suggest the most recently entered amount for a repeat item, create reports and reminders, manage receipts, and prepare recovery files and backups. The suggested amount remains editable and is never obtained from a bank, payment provider, or online service.

Private app storage

The protected source database and app-managed receipt files are stored inside Expense Home’s Android application sandbox. Android automatic cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for the app.

Expense Home is independent from Expense Office. It does not search, import, modify, or delete Expense Office records.

User-selected visible folder

Before setup, you select a location through Android’s system folder picker. Expense Home creates a visible folder containing readable recovery data, original attachments, year and month folders, Excel workbooks, receipt copies, indexes, and backups.

These visible files are outside the private app sandbox and are not separately encrypted by Expense Home. Other apps, connected computers, people with device access, or the selected storage provider may be able to read or copy them. Protect the chosen location and do not use an untrusted provider.

Cloud DocumentsProviders and sharing

Expense Home does not perform automatic developer-controlled cloud upload or synchronization. If you choose Google Drive or another cloud DocumentsProvider as the visible location, that separate provider may synchronize the files under your account and its own privacy terms.

Reports and backups leave the app only when you use Android’s system share or save chooser. The receiving app or service then controls its copy. Review each destination and remove shared or cloud copies through that provider when they are no longer needed.

Receipts and Android system interfaces

Optional receipt photos and PDFs are obtained through Android camera, gallery, or document interfaces. Expense Home requests no camera or broad-storage permission. A selected or captured file may also remain with the camera, gallery, document provider, or other original source and must be managed separately.

Internet, accounts, and tracking

Expense Home has no Internet permission and no account, developer backend, advertising, analytics, telemetry, tracking, or bank connection. AMK does not receive the household records processed by the application.

External applications opened after your action, including a cloud provider, browser, camera, document picker, or sharing target, operate separately under their own privacy and security terms.

Permissions

• Notifications: display optional recurring-bill reminders when enabled.
• Boot completed: reschedule local reminders after the device restarts.
• System folder, document, and share pickers: grant access only after you choose a location, attachment, or target.

The app requests no Internet, location, contacts, microphone, account, camera, or broad-storage permission. Removing notification access may prevent recurring-bill reminders from appearing.

Backups, retention, and deletion

Expense Home supports full ZIP backup and restore and places a backup copy in the visible year folder. Private records remain until you delete them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Transactions may remain in the Recycle Bin until permanently deleted.

Clearing app data or uninstalling normally removes private app records but does not automatically remove visible Excel files, receipt copies, recovery files, original attachments, backups, cloud-provider copies, or previously shared files. Delete those copies separately when they are no longer required.

Security and record accuracy

Use a secure device lock, protect the selected folder, review exports, and keep independent copies of important records. No storage or recovery method can guarantee against device failure, accidental deletion, corrupted files, provider problems, or loss.

Expense Home is a manual household record-keeping tool. It does not process payments, move money, provide financial advice, or verify the accuracy or suitability of an entry, budget, report, or backup.

Optional support website

Expense Home is free. Donations are optional and unlock no features, badges, rewards, content, or services. After you confirm the Donate action, Android opens supportamk.com in an external browser. Expense Home does not receive or store payment details. The browser, website, payment app, and payment provider have their own privacy practices.

Children’s privacy

Expense Home is a general household record-keeping tool and is not directed to children. AMK does not receive personal information from users through the application. A parent or guardian should supervise any child who helps enter household records.
